Any increase in noise is unacceptable, also the wind turbines will be unsightly which is unacceptable

Can someone give a positive reason for having the wind farm at this location? As i can see no possible advantage as it effects more people (visual resepticles) in a non-positive way i.e health, de-value surrounding area, socialbilty, etc. These are a fundemental part of any society. 8000 homes effected to feed 3000 homes of electricity, this doesn't make sense.

Thing is though, when all the costs of construction and delivery are taken into account, is it TRULY green *or* sustainable?

Totally in favour of the wind farm. We can all preach about being 'green' and 'doing our bit' - but do we actually DO anything? Yes we recycle waste - because we have to - or our rubbish does not get taken away. We know certain vehicles pollute more than others - but do we do anything about it? - no, they are still being produced and people are still buying and driving them. We know cetain appliances use more energy but do we cut down on their use? - no people still use dishwashers, tumble dryers etc.
Items that may help our busy lives .... or is it idleness? Must you take the car out, or could you walk, or catch a bus?
Do you need a dishwasher ... or could you wash up by hand?
Couldn't you hang your washing outside to dry ... much more sensible.
So why not take a stand and lead by example ... say YES we need that Wind Farm!

I am totally in favour of 'in shore renewable energy'..... As we live on hills, about as far away from the sea as you can get, water mills/generators appear to be out of the question. I have seen many sites where wind turbines have been installed and I (along with my children) find them fascinating, educational and good egg green! Once I can find the right kit, I will be putting a wind turbine on my house (fed up with current energy prices dictaed by others)! I seem to recall that previous complainers tried to suggest that the original open cast mine would cause lots of dust and noise problems? It never did and this seems yet another attempt to scupper a natural resource that will (if managed correctly), be a brilliant addition to generating carbon free power. Bring it on!!!!
